Rodeo Media

So, for the longest time Naptime Design was involved in many genres of media, but finally, this social “medialite” cowgirl found her proverbial wings and flew. Between my competitive horsemanship that went from beginner English lessons not too many years back, to now owning a couple of amazing horses, I realized that my heart and soul revolves around rodeo. If you knew me growing up, my love of horses started with my first Barbie and her horse. It then revolved around the times when my aunts and uncles, and godparents let me ride their horses – usually with no great instruction or success. I always had a fear of horses, but a great love to understand, learn and grow. Over time, I knew this was an itch that a simple scrap wouldn’t fix – horses were something that could never be out of my life. So, 6 years ago, my now 12 year old daughter was convinced she needed riding lessons. From there the story only began. Six years may have passed, but since thousands of hours riding, grooming, tacking, doing ground work or even just sitting in the pasture with my horses, friends horses or even lesson or lease horses. My life has been touched by so many horses over the years, I can’t even count the horse loves and heartaches that I’ve had. Well, of course I can recall those who left me a little less confident, the trainers who tried to ruin my dreams and the horses who decided grey areas meant bucking me off – lessons learned and lots of dirt has filled my back pockets, but my heart for horses has only grown stronger. If I told you that I got rid of all boot cut jeans and boots until about 7-8 years ago, wouldn’t you just fall over in disbelief? They are my daily wardrobe now and I would love anyone to say something about my fashionista urban cowgirl style – I rock it and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
